Pelvic Floor Wisdom grew from my first understanding of my dharma, my life's purpose to serve, Birth Wisdom Yoga. Now I understand that Pelvic Floor Wisdom is the core of all female wisdom because it is shared by all of us, binds us all, and the life practices for a healthy pelvic floor serve women in all stages of life.

Yoga Alliance 40-hour Continuing Education in Pregnancy Yoga & Birthing Yoga

Daily Schedule:

Thursday        9:00am-6:00pm

Friday               11:00am-8:00pm

*An additional 8-hours of out of class teaching will be assigned after the training commences, in order for each trainee to complete the certification.

This training will include:

  • The anatomy and physiology of pregnancy you need to know, while working therapeutically with pregnant clients.

  • The anatomy and function of the pelvic floor.

  • How to support women through the many changes they undergo physically and mentally while pregnant, and the Birth Wisdom Yoga Remedies that ease common pregnancy ailments.

  •  How to prepare the pelvic floor for birth and postpartum healing.

  • Julia's Integrative Pelvic Floor Health program to heal and support the pelvic floor muscles for all stages of life.

Upon completion of this course you will have an understanding of a variety of therapeutic yoga remedies for pregnancy and childbirth:

  • Asanas to build stability, endurance and strength for the "marathon of labor and child birth."

  • An understanding of pelvic floor dysfunctions such as hypertonic, hypotonic pelvic floor muscles, variations of prolapse and symptoms, urge incontinence, stress incontinence and the specific body alignment, breathing and movements to heal symptoms of each ailment.

  • Birth Wisdom Yoga poses for optimal positioning of baby, while also creating space in the pelvis for mom and baby during labor.

  • Birth Wisdom Prenatal Yoga Flows for teaching multi-level prenatal classes.

  • Pelvic Floor Wisdom and Foundations, including breathing to lengthen the pelvic floor muscles, body alignment, and everyday movement patterns to incorporate into all of your yoga classes.

  • How to develop your own postnatal community of women and design postnatal classes.

  • Understanding how to hold space for women in prenatal yoga classes while guiding them to "own their birth experiences."

  • Meditations and visualizations to use in prenatal yoga classes, labor and childbirth.

  • Guiding women to find a rhythm with their breath and movement in yoga poses, which many women report becomes "their lifeline" in labor.

  • How to use the Eight Birth Wisdom's from Julia's book, Birth Wisdom Yoga Remedies and Journal to create sacred space in the yoga and birthing room. 

An understanding of basic yoga poses is required to attend training.

*This is a total immersion program, no part of training can be missed or made up.

Certification:

  • All graduates will receive a Birth Wisdom Yoga Prenatal Yoga Teacher Certification Certificate.

  • Upon completion you will be able to register 40-Continuing Education Units in Pregnancy Yoga & Birthing Yoga (CEUs) with a Yoga Alliance(YA) completed 200-hour yoga teacher training, registered with YA.

  • Can be used as an elective for 300-hour yoga teacher trainings.

Workshop includes:

  • Hands-on practice of over 30 Yoga Poses, and Modifications for keeping mom and baby safe in Yoga Classes

     Prenatal Yoga Specialist and Birth Doula Julia Piazza provides a Complete Prenatal Yoga and Birth Preparation Guide with over 35 beautiful photos of yoga poses, and their proper modifications to keep moms and babies safe while practicing yoga.

 

     Birth Wisdom Yoga Remedies and Journal will provide you with a map for your pregnancy. In this guided journey, there is a complete prenatal yoga class flow with 35 poses and modifications for the beginning and advanced yoga practitioner. The proper modifications and benefits of each pose are completely explained to keep you and your baby safe, while also preparing you for the “marathon of childbirth.”

 

     Each trimester of pregnancy and yoga is explained with the common pregnancy ailments and their yoga remedies.
